Welcome to my food blog. I worked in food service for over 30 years. The digital artwork above is pulled from a video of me working in my restaurant. Some people thought it would be fun record this “Free Show”.
I owned my own restaurant for 9 of those years and the this video shows how I spent the majority of my time. I think it also captures the quiet, zen state I was able to access in the middle of the restaurant chaos. The plan when we opened was to blog along with the journey of opening and running a restaurant but the reality of the day-to-day work it takes to run a restaurant took over and I never found the time.
Since selling the restaurant at the end of 2019, I have been going through my notes and pictures and menus and I figured I would create this blog to share recipes, tips and things I’ve learned over the years. And it is also a way to practice my writing skills. Writing was always a hobby that I could never seem to make time for so this will be a good way to combine a lot of my interests all in one place.
I hope you enjoy the recipes and stories.
Thanks for visiting.
